ADDINGTON STOCK SALE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Christchurch, September 4, At Addington live stock market there were fair entries, of etock, and fat sheep, were in good supply. Eat pigs were in short supply, and advanced in prices. The yarding of store sheep, somewhat eimilar in size to that of the previous week, consisted principally of hoggets, and there' was a keen demand for storo cattle.
A fair number of owes, .mostly medium, .were- on offer, and rather more wethers than for some weeks past, including a fewpens of. very forwarS four and six-tooth sheep. Except for forward wethers, an easier tone was noticeablo throughout, the market, especially In the caee of mediumclass hoggets and such ewes as were on offer, none specially , good.. Several pens wero passed. A pen of specially good ewe hoggets realised 19rf. 3d. Other ewe hoggets, 15s. 6d.'to 15s. 9d.; wether hoggets, extra good, 15b. The market opened at easier rates. Tho competition of graziers had the effect of causing firmness as tho salo proceeded. Prime heavy wethers told at an irregular decline up to Is. a head. Me-dium-weight, wcll-woollcd four and sixtooth wethers were freely competed for by graziers at equal to last week's rates. Light, unfinished wethers, principally twotooths, were neglected, and were easier, and ewes of all classes were somewhat below last week's rates, in some cases ewes, not prime, showing a decline of Is. to Is. 6d. pcij head. The range of prices was: —Extra, prime wethers, to 295.; prime, 20s. to 255.; others, 18s. 4d. to 19s. 6d.; extra prime ewes, to 28s. 3d.; prime, 17s. to 225. 6d.; others, 13s. 7d. to 16s. 6d.; hoggets, 16s. 3d.; merino wethers, 14s. 2d. to lfc.
