A SCULPTOR'S DEATH.
DELVING INTO CHINESE MYSTICISM. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Vancouver, September 3. The recent death of Mr. Louis Potter, the noted American sculptor, during his treatment for a skin disease of the hands by a Chinese physician, has attracted a good deal of attentiou. Mr. Potter's mother, Mrs. Mary Potter, who lives at Seattle, has made a statement to the effect that her son was addicted to occult sciences, but had lately abandoned them, and studied Chinese and other Oriental mystics, with a view to reaching a higher spiritual insight to enable him to acquire greater development in his art. Mr. Po.tter had lived under an assumed name in consequence of family disputes regarding his studies. The Chinese physician who tieated him is missing. A post-mortem examination is pending at Seattle. The coroner is mystified as to the cause of death.
