Mno yesterday for the evident purpose of intercepting arbitraliooists engaged by the ■\Voihi Company for general work, but a force of police prevented any molestation. Tho police lined up two deep at the entrance of a track running through private pioperty, nnd prevented the mob follov;■ing the arbitrationists.
Mr. Parry, president of the union, saH he would have the conduct of tho police investigated, as he was ui private business, and demanded the right to use tlio track. ' ■
The solid front presantdd by the polio* prevented a. ami the strikers retired to the township. Waihi at tlio present time is almor.t without police, most of whom have been transferred to Waikino, and members of the Engino-'lriyjrs' Union ore l-avincj a lively time.. When they appear in public they aTe followed to their homos bv cemjs of strikers, but no violence so far has teen attempted.
