When stumps were drawn to-day, tho Australians had scored 225 for eight wickets against the combined team chosen from Surrey and Middlesex. Fine weather, with a cool breeze, prevailed. There was only a moderate attendance. Haiti fell early. The pitch was protected, and proved in fairly good order, but the out-field was bad. Play was delayed for half an hour. William Caffyn, eighty-four years of age, of Surrey and I\ew South Wales, a famous old-time cricketer, was a spectator. llendren was omitted from tho Combined team, and Carkeek included in the Australian. Eleven. Moyno won. the toss and batted, himself and Jennings opening. Tho Australians made an excellent showing throughout, the features of the inning's being the partnerships of Bardslcy and Minnett, vho added 5G for the fifth Wicket, and Bardsley and Hazlitt, who put on 91 for the sixth. Fifty was hoisted for seventy minutes' batting, 100 in two hours, and 200 in 215 minutes. . I Bardsley wa3 out in trying to turn a fast one from Hitch. Tho Glebe champion had played a perfect and chancoless innings, his work on tho leg side being splendid. His score of 111 included eleven •I's and eight 3's. Bardsley was at the wickets 200 minutes, mid reached his century after IGO minutes' batting. The spectators were treated to some brilliant hitting in the Bardsky-Miiinett partnership.
