BADLY OVERCROWDED.
AUCKLAND MENTAL HOSPITAL. (By Telcjpraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, September 3. A serious stato of affairs continues to exist in regard to lack of accommodation at the Auckland Mental Hospital. Tho institution is still badly overcrowded and the authorities are greatly- hampered in their work because of tho congestion which exists. This morning inquiries were made of Dr. Beattie, superintendent of the institution, and it was ascertained that tho transfers to Mohihi and Tokanui had quite failed to relievo the congesHon. It is understood that the Hon. It. H. Rhodes (Minister in charge of Hospitals) will visit Auckland in tho course of a few days to go into the question of a sito for a new mental hospital building.
