ANNUAL REPORT. : Tho report to be presented at the annual meeting of tho Kaupokouui Dairy Company on September 2 congratulates members on a very satisfactory year's working. Thero was a solid increase in the butter-fat, the cheese, the butter, tho test, and the ratio of cheese to fat, due moro or Jess to the Cow Testing Association and the weather conditions, T'or v tho coming season tho prospects for prices aTe very good. The now concrete 'storo building, 90 feet by GO feet, has been completed and is now in full going order, and the tnrnover has inoreased, as v.as antiripated, to over ,£25,559, an increase of 25 per cent, over the previous year. The directors hope that if they havo onother successful year they may bo able to make a rebate on stores purchased nejst year. Tha question' of continuing the Cow Testing Association hitherto carried on by the Department of Agriculture will be submitted to tho annual meeting with a strong recommendation from the directors. Tho advisability of embarking on tho handling and marketing of pigs in conjunction with Eltham, Mangatoki, and other dairy companies in the district will also bo submitted. During the past year the directors decided to instal plants at all their factories for tlio purpose of separating the whey, and tho expenditure has been a most profitable one .for tho suppliers, the factory having ieceived from whey and starter butter nearly .£6OOO for the nino months' working, or equivalent to 0.73 of a penny per pound of fat additional to former years, without any apparent effect on calves and pigs. The following table of statistics is attached to tho report:—Milk,- 51,814,4391b.; fat, 1,93(i,G9f>1b.; cheese, 4,874,1491b.; butter, 13G,1021b.; butter (whey), 85,1G31b.; cheese to fat, 2.G59; milk to cheese, 9.99; average test, 3.77. The appropriation account after writing off ,£1260 7s. sd. for depreciation oh properties and plant, shows a'surplus of ,£25.361 2s. 4d., which tho directors propose disposing of as follows—lnterest on slimes at G per cent., ;£S80; a further payment for milk of threepence and one-tenth on nil butterfat supplies from September 1 to \Tune ■ 30, absorbing ,£24,177 4a. 3d., making the total payment for the season 1.5.35 pence, and leaving a balance of .£.303 18s. Id. to be carried forwird. Mr. W. J. M'Donald has been re-engaged as general, manager."
