ANNUAL EEPOKT. Tho annual report of the.Eatiotu Dairy Company states that the amount to credit of .profit and loss account on closing the books in June was X 1773 lGs. Gd., and out of this the directors had appropriated' j;302 Is. 6d. for depreciation of buildings and plant, and it was proposed to make a further payment of 1 l-3d. over the whole of, the butter-fat supplied during the year, which would absorb ss. Id., and to pay interest at the rate of 5 per cent per annum on all fully-paid shares, which would' absorb .£73 *5. -Id., leaving 'a balance of .£(io fis. 7d. to be carried to next year's account, ot, to be otherwise dealt with.. The total payment for butier:fat for the year would amount to ll.tild. per" lb.',. in'', addition to payment of interest on shares, and this the directors considered very gratifying. During the 'year a whey-butter plant had been installed, and whey butter made during the cheese 'season. As tho riiilk was then i ! n small supply, the quantity of butter mado was not large, and the net- result, spread over the whole of tho butter-fat supplied during the year, was only .07 of a penny por lb. Tho directors considered that a good return for the and anticipated that the manufacture of whey butter through the wholo season in future would mater'ially . increase, tho return to suppliers. The following statistics nro also supplied:—Milk received. Buttcrrnaking: Butter made 31,7001b5.; over-run, 13.G per. cent; average price received per lb. butter, 12.Hd.; average price advanced per lb. butter-fat, 12.G8d.; average grade, butter 88.8, cheese 89.98. The balance-sheet shows that J!12,G01 os. Gd. had been advanced to suppliers for milk, making, with the additional .£1338 ss. Id. now proposed to bo paid from the profits, a total of ,£13,939 ss. 7d. advanced.
