WELLINGTON CLUB.
ANNUAL SMOKE CONCERT. Members of. tho Wellington ■ Football Club and friends gathered at the Kelburno Tea Kiosk on Saturday evening, the .occasion being the annual smoke concert. Mr. G. C. Facho presided, and supporting him were Captain J. Email Smith, Messrs. 'A. T. Bate (founder of the club), 0. G. Kember, and E. 0. Gibbes. Tho visitors included. Messrs. Booth and Reid, who n-ero in Wellington in connection . with the visit of. the Wairarapa ■ representative team.
. Mr. T. SI Bonaldson,. president, wrote eipressing regret at being unable to attend. through indisposition. ' Early in.the evening.-Mr. 11. B. Carey, .an. old .representative player, who has .devoted" his' spare time to coaching ijis club's third fifteen, was presented with a'. Loowe, pipe by the members of the team. ..' '
The following toast list-was honoured: — "The King"; "Our Fifteens," proposed by the .chairman, and responded to by tho captain's of- the different, teams; "The Coaches," proposed bv Mr. L. Hulbert, arid responded to bv'Jfsssrs. 0. G. Kombar, D. D. Weir, and H. B. Carey; "The Wellington Football Club," "proposed by Mr. J. P. . Bla'cklock.and resnondedto by the clnb captain (Mr. D. D. W<;ir); "The Wellington, Bugby Union," proposed by Mr.' 0. G. Kembsr, and; responded-to'by Mr. E. Little ;' "The La dies," proposed by Mr. J. Thompson, and responded to by Mr. L.. : Bridge; "Our Opponents"; and "The. Chairman and President." t.. Songs <ind other items were contributed by Messrs. .T. Kewton, A. Maenab, L. Bridge, N.
