AN IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL
By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright London, August 29. The funeral of the lato General Booth took place to-day. ' A vast concourse of -people lined the route from tho Army headquarters to !Abney Park Cemetery. The cortege, a mile long, included forty-eight brigades »f tho Salvation Army, with world-wido representation. Tho ceremonies were picturesque and impressive. Forty bands played funeral inarches. Tho Acting-Lord Mayor of London saluted as the procession, passed the Mansion Houso. PROVISIONS OF THE WILL', HOW THE GENERAL SUBSISTED. London,.August 29. General Booth left private property valued at, £487, which lias all been bequeathed to tho Salvation Army, except a few article as mementoes for each of his „ children and children-in-law. Tho will • divides among his children—Bramwell, Catharine, Marian, Herbert, Eva, and- Lucy—property valued at .£5295, representing a sum settled on him by tho late Henry Reed for his private use, and which enabled him to forego all remuneration • from tho Army funds., Tho will vests all tho Army property in trust irith Mr. Bramwcll Booth.
■ SYDNEY SERVICE. ' Sydney, August 80. There ,was a great representative gathering at the Booth memorial service in tho Town Hall last night, which included the Premier. (Mr. M'Goweri), Admiral Sir George King Hall, the Lord Mayor (Mr. G. T. Clarke), and heads of tho various churches. The Governor (Lord Chelmsford) was nnablo to attend, but was officially represented. Many glowing tributes were paid to the mempry of the late General.
