' ;—« NEW COLLECTOR AT WELLINGTON.' Two important positions in the Customs service became vaciirit by the death of Mr. C. S. Nixon, who was collector at ■Wellington, and the. appointment of Mr. Speuce, collector at Invercargill, to the. now position of Customs expert in Loiiclon. The following promotions have been made:— Mr. E. E. Brabazon, collector at Dunedin, to bo collector at Wellington. ' Mr. T. M. Cullen, collector at Nelson, to be collector at Dunedin. Mr. W. J. Wratt, landing surveyor at Diiuedin, to be collector at Invercargill. Mr. W. Dovenish, collector at Greymoutli, to be collector at Nelson. Mr. W. Howarth, landing waiter at Christchurch, to bo collector at Groymouth. ■ ' - Mr. K. J. Ecclesficld, collector'nt Hokitika, to bo senior landing waiter at Christchurch. •, , Mr. P. Doiill, senior landing *aiter at Dunedin, to be lauding survoyor at Dunedin. Mr. F. C. J. Fantham, landing waiter at Christchurch, to be collector at Hokitika Mr. W. Wallace, clerk at Wellington, to bo landing waiter at Christchurch.
