FIGHTING IN MOROCCO

General Mangin surprised one of tho encampments of El Hiba, tho Pretender, in tho vicinity of Suk-El-Arba, and routed tho enemy at tho point of tho bayonet. Native advices stalo that El Hiba has quitted Marakesh and gone north. Tho friendly Kaid El Glawi handed him over the Frenchmen who were in Marakesh, El Hiba promising to escort them to the coast. 'A WELL-EQUIPPED FORCE. (Itec. August 27, 10.35 p.m.) Paris, August 27. France has remonstrated with Spain owing to the Spanish Consul's support of tho agenta of El Hiba, tho Spanish Pretender, and their Spanish proteges in conducting an active contraband trade in aims. El Hiba's six thousand men are well equipped tribesmen, and include many of Mulai Hafid's Erench-traiucd soldiers who deserted from the regular Moorish army in April. Tho French are anxious as to the fato of their compatriots who were entrusted to El Hiba's care. Many newspapers are urging drastic action, and the dispatch of an extra twenty thousand men to reinforce the French army in Morocco.
