. STAR CLUB'S ANNUAL REPORT. The forty-sixth annual meeting of the Star Boating Club is to be,held on, Friday next. The annual report states that the membership is now 375, 32 members having joined during the year. The accounts, now framed upon the double-entry system, show a loss for the year of .£7B 18s. 7d., attributed in a measure to the decrease in tho regatta prize-money receipts. _ ; "Additions' to the plant comprise two fixed-seat fours and one racing clinkor convertible pair-oar and double-sculler. Two old senior'pairs were disposed of by the committee at satisfactory prices. A supply of oars, eculls, and leather h'as been ordorod from Messrs. E. Ayling and Son, London, sufficient for the next two' seasons. "Tho club was represented at regattas at Port Chalmers, Picton, Wellington, Little River, nnd Nelson. Its representatives won the Maiden Double Sculls at Port Chalmers. Junior Purrs at Picton, and Maiden Pairs at Wellington and. Napier. Tho Junior Pairs at Napior was awarded tho Star crew on protest. The prize money, however, had been lodged by the Napier Regatta Committee with the council of th<<N.Z.A.R.A„ as an appeal has been lodged by the Union Boat Club, Wanganui, against the decision of the Napier Committee. "The best thanks of the members ore extended, to tho ladies, who assisted at the various social gatherings; to the Government Life Insurance Department, tho City Council, and tho Union Steam Ship Company for tho uso of flags during tho season; also to Mr. R. L. Evatt for donation of a silver enp as a challenge trophy for the Club Junior Pairs. The club congratulates its president, the Hon. H. I). Bell, on his appointment to tho leadership of the Legislative Council."
