PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION.

~ 9 REPORT COMPLETED. The commission appointed to report upon the. public sorvio© has completed its work, aud\ its report was forwarded to the Governor through the Prime Minister yesterday afternoon. It is a bulky document, containing the results of an apparently exhaustive inquiry into tho organisation and administration of tho service. It is at present in manuscript, and several days will probably elapse before tho report cau bo presented to Parliament. The evidence taken by the commission will not bo made public. Meantime tho Government's proposals regarding tho public service will be mado known, as tho Bill of which the Hon. A. L. Herdman has charge will probably be circulated this afternoon.
