SHEEP FOR SOUTH AMERICA.
■ SHIPMENT FROM NEW SOUTH "WALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mereantilo Agency, Limited,' and reduced, have just completed the transhipment of 213 stud sheep on account of Messrs. Dewliui'st and Halloran, of Sydney, to four land companies in tho Argentine. Tho ilock comprises 12G merino ewe hoggets, 55 Romney owe hoggets, and 33 merino rams. The sheep are all 'purebred, and were purchased from well-known sheep-owners of the Central West District of New South Wales, viz., Messrs. T. Edols and Co. (Bnrrawang Station), E. T. Doyle, (Card- | ington Hall Station), and J. Body (Bundamah Station). Amongst the floek are two valuable rams, which co«t 300 guineas apic-ce. The sheep arrived from Sydney in the Maunganui on AVednc-sday last, and were taken on to Monte Video by the Kaikoura on Saturday. The sheep will bo transhipped thenco to Buenos Ayres, where they will be driven to various stations, ranging from 500 to 100 miles inland. Tlie sheep aro being transported for the sole purpose of improving the Argentine, flocks, and should .prove of great value for cross-breeding in that country.
