MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

(Before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.) THE TWO ESCAPED PRISONERS. Andrew Bergerson and George Paul, the two prisoners who escaped from Point Halswell about ten days ago, were brought before tho Magistrate's Court on Saturday morning. Inspector Ellison, who prosecuted, said that tho two men had put the State to a great deal of expense. There was an impression among tho prisoners at tho gaol that they could cause such disturbances with impunity. His Worship, in sentencing tho men, said that each was liable to an additional term of two years. • He sentenced them to threo months' imprisonment, cumulative on their present term of ment.Two first offenders, charged with insobriety, were also dealt with.
