FOG IN THE RIVER. (By TeleEraßh.-Suocial Corrosnondcnt.) Wanganui, August 22. There was a dense fog over tho river this morning when tho steamer" Pet ono entered the port. Whilo groping her way up tho sailing course, she "wobbled," witii tho result that she took tho ground on the edge of thq channel. Tho vessel sustained no damage, however, and floated off on this evening's tide.
