An enthusiastic meeting of tlio organising committee of the proposed branch of the Westlaml Reform Lenguo wus held tonight in tho Firo Brigade rooius, when there was a largo attendance. Mr. W, Jefferies presided. A quantity of correspondence wns read dealing with the formation of the lenguo and its constitution. It was decided to hold a public meeting of those willing to enrol as members in the Town Kail on Tuesday, September 3. Messrs. H. L. Michel, A. A. Andrew's, H. 11. Conlson, J. J. M'.lnlosh, AV. Jeffries, ami the secretary (Mr. S. Briggs) were appointed a sub-cominitteo to make arrangements for tho evening's proceedings. Reports from outlying districts stated that t.lw enrolment, ot membership was extremely satisfactory.
