Sir Conan Doyle, the well-known novelist, has published a booklet demanding an inquiry regarding the case of Oscar Slater, convicted of murdering Marion Gilchrist, an old woman, at Glasgow in December, 1908. Sir Cotian Doyle searchingly analyses the unsatisfactory evidence adduced at the trial as to tho identity of tho murderer. Slater was sentenced to death at the trial, bub was subsequently reprieved.
