JEWISH LITERARY SOCIETY.
Last evening 'an intellectual and humourous lecture was delivered by Dr. A. K. Newman, M.P., before a large attendance. of members of the Jewish Literary and Debating Society. "The speaker traversed for over an hour tho religion of the Maoris and their customs, tracing the.m back t.o the borderland of puro myth. At the conclusion, a number of questions were aslced, and tho lecturer was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
