IF FREE LABOUR CAME | (By Telegraph.—Press Association.! Waihi, August 20. In regard to tho possibility of free labourers coming to Waihi Mr. Parry (pre-, sident of tlio Miners' Union), in addressing a mass meeting to-day, said that ho had written to tho Federation of Labour asking tho officials to interview the head of the Railway Workers' Union requesting the latter not to carry free labourers. If free labourers come to Waihi it would be necessary to liavo an organised campaign. to meet them. A Toply had been, received from Mr. Glover .stating that lie would interview tho union as requested. Mr. Parry added that it would be necessary to have 30 or 40 men at tho committee's disposal in the event of freo labourers coming here. He added: "Tho police and military would only bo too pleased to put a portion of last Sunday's dinner on the end of a piece of cold steel." ' A member, who has worked elsewhere, but has returned, ond who had not contributed the 10 per cent,levy, was lined two weeks' striko' 'pay.'" ''
