Mr. Fisher, Moral Prime Minister, speaking nt tho Commercial Travellers' Association's anniversary celebrations, said ho hoped that New Zealand would come to closer relationship with Australia in tho matter of trade and defenco than ever before. Tho Government cordially invited New Zealand representatives to discuss matters eo that New Zealand and Australia would bo brought fraternally together, not merely aa parts of the Empire, but associated for mutual protection and progress. (Cheers.) Ho hoped a conference would be held to discuss trade matters, the conference to include representatives of the Empire and the United States. -By such means they could form a combination that would secure the peace of the world, despite any Power that might bo desirous of disturbing it.
