Sir,—l noticed in ,tho course of a stroll the other day a street of this umo, off Tasman Street, whilst a street of the sam-e name appears at I.yaH Bay. Puring Mr. Wilford's term of office os Jlayor the council altered tho names of several streets in tho city, in order that visitors and others might not be directed to the wrong street. Surely when this was ('.one it was a. simple matter to direct that no consent would bo given to tlio creation of fresh streets of a similar name to ony at present in existence.
