A Dunedin Wedding. The Rev. Graham H. Balfour) of First Church, was married on Wednesday afternoon at Dunedin to ?diss M'Kcnzie, who until recently was matron at tho Dunedin Hospital. Tho wedding took place at the master's residence at Knox College, Professor Hcwitson officiating. Dr. Catherine Will acted as bridesmaid, and DivColquhoun gave tho bride away. Mr. J. L. Robinson, 15.A., was host man. Wedding at St. John's. Wednesday, afternoon, at St. John's Church, tho Rev. Dr. Gibb officiating, Miss Charlotte- A. Anderson, of Grevmouth, was married to Mr. J. C. Larking, of Dunodin. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. H. A. Anderson, of Wellington, woro a grey silk gown, the bodice of which was daintily braided and piped with striped silk, tho oyerskirt being finished, with silk friiwo. bio woro also a .black tagel hat wivh black lancer plumes, and a handsome set of furs; tho gift of her sister. Tho bridesmaid was Miss Edith Masters, who wore a vicux roso silk frock and lagol hat to match. The best man was Mr. Philip Auderson, of Greymoutu. After the ceremony a reception was held at tho tiffin Tea-rooms, where Miss Anderson (sister of tho bride) received tho guests. She wore a frock of grey crcpo do chine, and a black picture hat. In tho evening tho brido and bride-groom left for the south, where the honeymoon is to bo spent. Missionaries for China. The China Inland Mission has recently accepted Mr. Henry W. Funnel, of Christchurch; Miss Sara Hardisty, of Napier; and Mr. Joseph Thompson, of Auckland, for service in China. Mr. Funnel went to tho Xenia Theological Seminary, in Ohio, United States of America, and while thero offered himself to the mission.. Both Miss Hardisty and Mr. Thompson qualified in Australia. At tho completion of their present visit to New Zealand to sco their friends, they •will leave for China. The China Inland Mission, with these additions, will have 23 New Zealand missionaries in its Tanks. A Cartorton Wedding.jQ At St. Andrew's Cluirclii Cartorton, on Thursday morning;,- Mr.iHVi A. M'Kenzio, youngest son of Mrs.' 51 A. M'Kenzie, of Carterton, was married to Miss Margaret Callander, oldest daughter of Mr. John .Callander, of Melbourne. The bride whs given away by her brother, Mr. C. Callander, and was attended by Miss Elfio lidnd, niece of tho bridegroom, as bridesmaid. Mr. C. E. Lee was Lest man. The Rev. L. Thompson was the officiating minister. The bride's dress was a Swiss embroidered robe, and sho carried a beautiful shower bouquet of spring, flowers. The bridesmaid wore a pretty cream cloth dress, trimmed with satin, and a pink picture hat. She also carried a dainty bouquet. Mr. and Mrs. M'Kcnzie left by the express train for the north, where they will reside. Auckland Notes. Mrs. Wilfrid Colbeck (Auckland) is> tho guest of her sister, Mrs. Vivian Riddiford, at the Lower Hult. Miss Jacobsen (Wellington) is on a visit to Auckland, and is .staying with Mrs. J. S. D. Spicer in Parnell. Mrs. Hartland (Auckland) is staying with friends in Christchurch. Tho Mayor of Auckland (Mr. C; J. Pan-) and Mrs. Parr returned last week from a very interesting visit to Australia. Mr. Parr speaks enthusiastically of tho high values being paid for land near tho city of Sydney, thus necessitating buildings of tho skyscraper description, which have, however, been limited by the City Council to fourteen storeys. Evidently Auokland is not altogether behindhand iii tho same connection, for at the pp«ont time additions aro being mado to ''Cargen" (tho well-known privato hotel in pdon Crescent) which are so extensive as to necessitate the requisitioning 0 f a considerable, space-in the skies.
Danco in St. Peter's Schoolroom. Tho annual dance given by Messrs. « e SS, and Company took place in St i'eters bchoolroom last ovenin", and was a most enjoyallo event. The hall hail been very prettily decorated with pink and white drapmgs, long streamers being carried, canopy-wise, from tho central gasolier to the sides of tho room, and the walls decorated with foliage and still further drapings of pink and white. Tho stage, had been comfortably, furnished for those-not dancing, and ornamented with palms and foliage. Supper (catered for by Mrs. Hall, Culm' Street) was served in an adjoining room, tho tables being euectivcly decorated. Mrs. A. Begg was present, and Mr. and Mrs. Horner, and tho energetic eoinmitleo, of which Mr. Colo was secretary, is to fco congratulated upon tho success of tho evening. 'Mr. Cawley supplied the music, and tho decorations were tho work of tlio Scoullar Company.
