—-——* . VESSELS TO SAIL IN A FEW MONTHS. By Teleeraph—Press Association—Conyricai Melbourne, August 16. Senator Pearoe, Federal' Minister for Defence, has announced that the Australian cruiser Melbourne will be commissioned on January 1 nest, and will depart for Australia shortly afterwards. The route has not yet been decided on. The battleship Australia and the cruiser Sydney will'visit Cape Town and other African ports on- the invitation of tho South African Union.. They will leave England' a few 'months' after'"' the Melbourne.
