BASIS FOR PEACE SOUGHT. By Teleeraph—Press Association—Copyright Berne, August 14. Informal conversations have taken place in Switzerland in the hope of finding abasis for peace between Italy and Turkey. Nothing concrete has been achieved. It is hoped that the visit of M. Poincaire, Prime Minister of France, to Russia will contribute towards the discovery of a formula acceptable to Italy and Turkey.
