THE EGMONT SEAT.
THE MINISTERIAL CANDIDATE. Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, who will be tho Government candidate for the Egmont seat at the impending by-election, arrived 111 'Wellington from San Francisco yesterday. Ho will leave for Eltham tomorrow morning to make preparations for his campaign. Mr. Wilkinson has been, a candidate for tho scat on two previous occasions, and is widely known throughout tho district. He spoke today with confidence of his prospects in tho impending contest.
