DISPOSING OF DAIRY PRODUCE.
OPEN CONSIGNMENT FAVOURED. The question which is agitating the directors of cheese and butter factories ai present is whether they will sell or consign their outputs this season. When last season opened a number of companies wero tempted by what appeared to be the high prices offering, and sold their outputs, but they lived to regret that they had not adopted the open consignment policy. As things stand at present it appears that most holders are favonring open consignment, although offers of up to Is. per lb. had been inade for butter for London. Representatives of the various' firms which handle dairy produce are now abroad in the lend, and no fewer than sixteen such representatives were present.in Inglowood.on Monday, when four daily ■ companies met. The whole of the companies, it is stated, favoured open consignment and no business was done. .•■:..
