Burnett and A. liobinson, who are to represent (ho Wanianui Cliain)x>r of Commerce at tho International Commerce Congress at Boston, wore faivwellcd at a larg? gathering of business men yesterday, and given a hearty sendoff. The Wanganui Chamber has taken full advantage of the olrer to be represented at tho congress, and L. B. Bassett, who i.s now in England, mil join Me-srs. Burnett and Robinson in America. Bush farmers are reported to l;c mootin!! considerable difficulty in getting moil to undertake bnshteling contracts, especially in cases 'where the work is "ivayback." The Labour Department al«i' reports that it has several contracts open, bnt cannot get men to take them up. Regarding general country work, however, there is no difficulty in finding or placing men, and the Department savs that practically tho only men who are. unemployed aro tho class who do not want to Ami work.
