Hundreds of engineer apprentices at i Glasgow have struck for a shilling a week increase, to cover deductions for insurance under the national scheme. HAWAIIAN STRIKE ENDS. Honolulu, August 11. The officers of tho Inter-Island Shipping Company, who went on striko have compromised. They are; to receive overtime, pay for holidays and Sundays. Seven vessels have sailed. STOREMEN'S AGREEMENT, (Reo. August 12, 8.55 p.m.) Sydney, August 12. A new agreement has been signed by the Storemen's Union and the Stevedores' Wool-dumping and Lighterage Association embodying an increase of from 7s. 6d. to 10s.' for weekly hands, and 4ld. an hour for casual hands. Thero is to bo a 48 hours' week from September to March inclusive, \ and a It hours' week during the balanco of the year. Preference is granted to unionists.
