WANTED-MORE RACE DAYS.
'"" CURRENT AGITATION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Waipnwn, August 10. At a meeting of the Sports Protection League, tlie following resolutions were carried: "That the league will support any legislation aiming at a reasonable increase in the number of (lays of racing, with a view of restoring to country clubs the totalisator permits they were deprived of by the Racing Commission"; "That tho league would support legislation for tho repeal of tho prohibition ol the publication of dividends on races in New Zealand or of the starting prices on races beyond New Zealand." A vote of thanks was accorded Sir. George HunParliament through the member for the Gaming Act. .... Stratford, August 10. The committee of the Stratford branch of the Sports Protection League unanimously decided on tho desirability of supporting legislation providing for a reasonable increase in racing days and a repeal of the present prohibition against the publication of racing dividends. A petition to this effect will be forwarded to Parlaiment through the member for tho district. Taihapo, August 10. The executive of tho local branch of the Sports Protection League last night endorsed tho resolution of tho Board of Control favouring an extension of racing days; also the publication of dividends or starting prices.
