* FULLERS' PICTURES.' A bi-weekly change of programme was screened at the. Vivian Street Skating Rink last owning. "Two Knights in a Bar-Room" is a good Edison film- A drink-sodden man lias a vision iu which two sots of ancient urmonr become ones more active over the bodies of their former owners. The drunkard dreams that these two knights of old go round with him avenging insults that have been heaped upon him in his degenerate clays. "The Little Hutch Girl" is a sad little story of the life of a beggar. The poor girl, in a starring condition, begs alms of tho heartless passers-by. At last she becomes unconscious, and is taken to a hospital, where she lias a vision of angels descending for her. "Geometrical Deformation" is a scientific study of ; hydraulic pressure upon various shapes of steel cylinders. "Hypnotic Noll" is a good Western comedy. ' The heroine is in love with a bashful cowboy who is too shy to mako advances. She procures a book on hypnotism, and wills him to kiss her. Next sho hypnotises her father, who gives the couple his blessing while he is in a trance. Thus they are happily married. "Leap Year Lottery" is another good comic study, and "in the course of the story the villago minister is involved in a matrimonial lottery, which, although' previously "squared," turns out badly • for him. In the end he manages to extricate himself, and marries, {'tiler gcod pictures are "Dick Turpin" (finely cc.ioi.Tcd), "His Lesson," and "Novel Hurglr.ry." This programme will be screened again tonight.
THE KING'S THEATRE. "The Snake Dancer" and "Tho Outcast" continue to figure as tho star pictures on tho current programme of tho King's Theatre. Both pictures are good; "The Snake Dancer" will appeal most to the majority of people, as the idea and plot of tho piece is more novel. Beside, "The. Pride of the Circus" was a popular picture in its week, and "The Snako Dancer" is a continuation, and by the same company. The comic section of the programme is also strong, "Tho Bump of Destruction" being tho best, although "Tho'Leading Man" is by no means-to be despised on that account. THE NEW THEATRE. Crowded scissions wero recorded last evening at the New Theatre, Manners Street. To-day and to-night the customary change of programme will be introduced, this being headed by a striking modern dramatisation, entitled "Woman's Gratitude," by the Melies Company. Another Stirling dramatic subject is tho Clarendon "Foiled by a Girl." The remaining attractions include:—"ln and Around Llandno" (scenic), "How Golf Clubs are Made" (industrial), "Gnspard's Devotion" (Cines drama), and tho comedies, "Mind tho Paint" and "A Football Absurdity." Messrs. MacMahon and Donnelly advertise that a fine pictureversion of Rider Haggard's romantic work, "She," will bo introduced next Monday. The incidents are brilliantly conceived, and the impressivo "fires of youth" scone is a feature of rare merit. ADELPHI THEATRE. A fair "house" was prcsont at tho Adelphi Pictures last evening. To-night is to be a "big night" at this theatre—a benefit in aid of tho funds of the'Te Aro Sailing Club, being given. In addition to the usual first part of the current programme, two films specially appealing to yachtsmen will be shown. They nTO entitled "White Wings of the "Solent" and "Yachting in Norway." Tho second part of the programme will consist of vocal, instrumental, and elocutionary items, rendered by some of the best known and most popular performers in AVellington. Popular prices will be charged as usual. Tic-ket-holders are urged to book their seats at once, and also to occupy them before 7.30. During the evening Mr. George Winder will present the trophies won during tho recent contests. SHORTT'S PICTURES. Despite tho, weather thero were large attendances at Shortt's Continuous Picture Show in Willis Street last-evening. As it was "change day," the proprietors had selected a capital programme of new films, one of which—tho star item—was entitled "Captain King's Rescue." After having been captured by tho enemy tho gallant captain apparently had some thrilling adventures. -■ ne was eventually rescued by members of his company. A military picture, entitled "The Czar's Review," was one of special interest. It depicted his Imperial' Majesty reviewing thousands of his Muscovite soldiers. This film gave one an impression of what tho Russian army may be like. In addition to the above there were other capital films. These included "A Leap Year Comedy," "Kind-Hearted Dupin" (comic), "Rock Climbing in tho Black Forest" (scenic), and "The Gaumont Graphic." Tho same programme will bo producer! from II a.m. till 11 p.m. to-day.
THE DANDIES. That excellent company of humorous entertainers, Tho Dandies (green), still piny to excellent houses in the Concert Chamber of tho Town Hall. Again last night there was no exception to tho rule, despito the weather. Each item was well received, and encores were numerous. Mr. Herbert Walton, in his charactersongs, "When tho Bugle Calls" and "Nautical Captain Brown," appeared to advantage, and the same can be said of Air, Joseph Brenuan, tho monologue man of the company. Miss Florence Henderson's rendition' of- songs entitled "The' Harem Skirt" and "Mr. Jolly-Boy" were much appreciated. The company will appear nightly until further notice. "81NBAD THE SAILOK." Writing of the Melbourne, production of "Sinbad the Sailor," the "Leader" says: —"One of the most satisfactory things noticeable is the complete absence of any suggestion of coarseness in the comedians. Mr. Tip Towell's performance is clean and bright throughout. Ho is a comedian pure and simple, and tho best, tribute to his | improved methods .and genuine humour is tho hearty laughter which his easy and finished acting calls forth from old and young alike." The same praise is accorded to Messrs. Drew, Alders, and Winn, as the two eccentric sailors, and the amorous Emperor of the- Sahara, Mr, Charles Howard, Misses Florence Imeson, Nell Finnis, Marie Baton, and Nance Maher get quickly on the best of terms with their audiences, and apparently with each other, and as a consequence the performance goes swimmingly from the starting-harrier to the winningpost. The ballets and marches present a constantly-moving panorama of colour, and tho scenic setting is in admirable keeping with the general offect. Box plans for tho first six nights and matinee aro announced to open at the Dresden on Monday morning next. SONG BECITAL TO-NIGHT.' Mr. Leo. Buckeridgo's song recital takes place to-night at St. Andrew's Hall, Wellington Terrace, when an attractive programme, well worthy tho attention of music-lovers, will be presented. -Mr. Buekeridgo will lie existed by Mrs. Natusch and the Misses Nora Natusch, "Rita M'Coll, Dorothy Cotton, and Barbara Roger.
