' Betoe tho Conciliation Council, in -reference to the drivers' disputo, it was announced that the parties had been unable to reach an agreement' on the basis of the terms proposed by the employees, at wages ranging from Js2 ss. for single horse, ,£2 Us. for- two horses, to £2 10s. for two horses where no stableman is kept; drivers being at liberty to work on a wet day if desired. The disputo was referred by consent to the Arbitration Court, which meets in Wellington as soon as practicable, ,:thc object being tho framing of a Dominion award.
