(From Our Special Correspondents.) Wanganui, August 6.—Overcast and chilly; showers in the evening. . Foilding, August 6.—Light rain in the night; fine day; cold night. Palinerston, August 6—Fine, but cold. Otaki, August 6.—The weather during the early portion of the week was problably the coldest on record this season, this being chiefly on account of the snow which lies in large quantities on the hills. It is seldom that snow ie diecernable on Kapiti Island, but a. slight fall was recorded there also.
