THE ATTRACTION THIS WEEK. • The boxing tournament at the Town Ifftll on, Wednesday is attracting considerable attention ninoiig followers of tho sport, ami judging from the demnnd for spats there ought to be a large attendance. Tho principal contestants, Haiman, oi Australia, and Murphy, tho Joeal ehoinpion, ore reircrted to lw in the best of form. Murphy has not been .seen hero in action since his amateur days, but those who luivc watched him in training consider him to bo one of tho cleverest seen here for some time in his class. The two principal preliminaries are between llavill, of I'nlmcrston, and Simpson, of Ohristchui'ch;, and Thompson, of Southland, ngain.st I'engelly, of Canterbury, in pis-round bouts.
