LONDON DOCK FACILITIES.

A COMBINED EFFORT KEQUUfIED. Dealing with the movement in tho direction of securing from the Port of London Authority belter means of unloading and storing New Zealand frozen produce at the docks, Mr. J. G. Wilson had tho following to say in his opening address at the Dominion Farmers' Conference:— "Sorting sheds and stores are promised by the l'ort of T.ondon Authority, but whether in tho best position remains to he seen. If we could only at the present juncture make a combined.effort, there is no reason why we should not bo able to concentrate the whole of our produce in warehouses at the docks, and distribute it all over Great Britain with only one handling. London agents are generally content, however, to allow things to remain as they are, and the difficulty of getting nil tho interests together in' tho Dominion is so great that no one has yet been able to accomplish it. It is not too late yet to make a beginning, nntl an active High Commissioner in London might do.much in tin's direction. Tam glad to know (hat just before Sir W. Hall-Jones went out of ollice. he took the matter up. If even a beginning were made of cold stores for our frozen produce—butter, cheese, and fruit, and warehouses for our wool on even a small scale, it would serve as a first step."
