"The Boxing, Council at its last meeting decided to urge the association to ellcourage boxing among Territorials:In reply to a question regarding tho status cf Xavy men who had competed for money prizes ill Navy competitions, the council quoted the English ruling that such inch forfeited their amateur status. The-following were selected to compete in the Australasian championships:—Bantam, J. Gunn; feather. G. Barr; light, U. Penrose; heavy, S. Fitzsimmons. Tlio inclusion xif Penrose was partly prompted by tho fact that ho is at present in Australia, and is willing to go to Sydney at his own expense. In view of the "financial position of the council, it was decided to select only l'our representatives, but to make representations to the Northern and Otago Associations in the hope that they will be able to help the finances-to enablo Mitchell (welter), and Borehani (middleweight) lo be included.
