Court, next AVednesday on various charges of insubordination and falling to lake the oath. ■ The annual ball in connection with the Petone Eoothall Club, which was' held in Ihe local Drill Hall last night, was a great succe-s. there being quite 60. or 70 couples presenl.. The dancc-room was appropriately decorated, and the adjoining supper-rooms looked very dainty. Many pretty dresses were, worn, the prevailing colour being white. Amongst the guests wero representatives from the Wellington Hugby Union, and tho city clubs. Matters in connection with the Petone Tramways Commilteo and the syndicate are now assuming definite shape. An agreement regarding, the form of traction has been drawn up, and will shortly be presented to the full, couucil.
