' THREE VALLMULK STALLIONS.' Three valuable Clydi'sdale stnl lions were sold iu Glasgow recently far shipment to New Zealand. Mr. Win. Dunlop, of Pine Bush, Southland, has purchased mini Mr. George Wathon, W'igtun, Cumberland, tho three-year-old stallion Genoral Miller (laMO), bred by Mr. .las. Miller, of Milton, Kilmacolm. The sire of. this horse is the listed Sir Hugo (10921), for many years the stud horse at Park Mains, and cue of the most successful sons of tiie great Sir Everard (5353). His dam is Milton Favourite (23969), by Rothesay Jiav (1002-1). General Miller is said to )x a Uig-si/.ed useful colt with first-rate top and the best of legs and ankles, as well as good, wide-open feet. He should breed tiio kind of animals fitted for drawing heavy loads on tho highway. Mr. W. O. Ronnie, Doyieston, Canterbury, has secured what are reported to be two excellent speciments. From Mr. Matthew Marshall, Bridcgbank, Stranraer, he has bought the three-year-old stallion Morocco (159G5), which was bred bv Mr. James Gray, FCersc Mains, Stirling, and got by Homer's Kyle (12178) out of Nancv Iverse (19570), by Balmeadie Queen's Gunrd (lOOiill), with granddam bv the noted horse Fortune Still (9752). This is described as a well-ribbed; thick-bodied horse set on capital legs ami feet. He should it. is stated prove highly serviceable in New Zealand. Mr. Rsnnic purchased liom Mr. John Marr, Upnermill, Tarves, ti'c two-year-old colt Proud Bannerman (167G1). This horse was bred bv Mr. George Baiineriunii, Ladvles, Old Meldrum, and has for sire th'e stallion Proud Chieftain (1424), his dam being the. noted mare Darling (29101), by Roval Edward (11495), whilo his granddam is by the Highland and Agricultural Society's first prize horse Prince Thomas (10202). In the matter of breeding this horse is all that could be desired, and he is of the weighty stamp to be found so frequently m Aberdeenshire. In combination with his weight he has the best legs, with fine, flat, flinty bone and good wearing feet. All over he is a horse well fitted to maintain the reputation of tho Clydesdale in New Zealand.
