BRITISH SAILOR'S BRAVERY.
-q MEDAL FHOM ITALY. : Id spite of tho stormy conditions last evening there was a'largo attendance at the Mission to Seainon's' Institute, when a concert arranged by Mr. W. M'Lnughlin was given. . ■ His Excellency the Governor, Lord Islington, presided. The Key. A. M. Johnson, lion, chaplain to the mission, welcomed his Excellency, and thanked him. for the kindly interest he had shown in tho mission. In the course of his reply, his Excellency said that it gave him great pleasure to assist any movement which had as one of its objects the providing of comfort for those who visited these shores. During the evening his Excellency presented a mednl to Mr. Delvindalo. a seaman, who was on board H.M.S. Mariner nt tho time of the Messina oarthquako (in 1908), and who was among the British eailors who rendered great service, to the inhabitants of tho place. Tho medal was sent by the Italian Government through the Minister for Marine. Tho Governor i made reference to tho conspicuous bravery of Mr. Delviiuklo on tho occasion 0/ the great .disaster.
