THE-HIGH COMMISSIONERSHIP.
Sir,—lt is often sriid that women do not understand politics, and, certainly, speaking for myself and many others, 1 hnd it hard to understand why the present Leader of the. Opposition should be oven mentioned as a possible candidate for the responsible position of High Commissioner. Is our country to be represented by a politician who committed a serious breach of trust in seizing the Government, drawing salaries, making ap; pointments, etc., without any authority from Parliament? We all know too well the events of tho last few months, and wo.know that in a private business such conduct would bo followed by dismissal '—'certainly not by promotion to what; ispractically Qur Ambassador s position, - Ifeel sure this appointment would bo most unpopular throughout our own party, and a. serious wound to our side.. I should have said that Mr. Massey was tho last man to build his house upon the sand, and only hopo such a blunder will not be attributed to our Reform party—l am, etc., ■■ A WOMAN VOTER .
