RAILWAY TIME-TABLES.
Sir,—l wonder if tho person responsible tor compiling the railway time-table ever takes into consideration the neod of the travelling public. In the July time-table recently issued, care seems to have been taken to so arrange matters that anyone arriving from New Plymouth, by the mail, timed to reach Wellington 7.23 p.m., should miss the connection to Petone and the Hutt. Until the recent alteration, passengers had a fair chance of catching the 7.35 train to the Hutt; the train has now been, timed to leave at 7.30 p.m., so as to make euro passengers shall miss the connection, and so have to hang about bill 8.20 before they can got a train home. Surely there is no sense in this alteration, and no consideration for the suburban traveller; if the train had been put forward five muvutcs instead of back thero might have been cause for so doing.— I am, etc., SUBURBANITE. Hutt, July 24.
