ENTERTAINMENTS.
"BEN HUH." If a blizzard of the most violent order were to strike Wellington, it would not prevent'the, public from fighting their way in to see "Hen Hiir" at tho Opera House. Though it Tained nnd hailed fairly-.continuously last, evening, there were no seats to spare, and the booking indicates that these conditions will bo easily maintained up to the end of tho season, which concludes on Tuesday evening next. His Excellency tho Governor ami Lady. Islington witnessed tho performance last evening. ■ THE NEW DANDIES. Though tho weather was far from enticing Inst evening, there was a fairly large audience at the Concert Chamber to witness tho performance of the utw Dandies. Messrs. Walton. Horton and Brennan supplied some capital comedy turns, Miss Florence Hondersou was dainty and winsome in guy soubrette songs; Misses Manning and Byrne contributed acceptablo ballads; and Mr. Rcnn Millar, a tuneful baritone, hit the public taste -in a couple of rollicking songs of the sen, THE BORNEO GARDINER CONCERT. A great deal of interest is being shown in connection with Mr. Borneo Gardiner's concert on Monday night next. Mr. Borneo Gardiner is considered one of tho most popular performers in Wellington, and it is recognised that for the laudable work done in the past some appreciation should l>e shown tho young ,New Zcalander prior to his departure for London to join the professional stage. His many friends therefore have organised this entertainment fdr Monday night, and have secured the services of many leading vocalists and performers. Tho Professional Orchestra have given their assistance, and items will bo-given by vocalists and humorous and dramatic reciters. SUNDAY CONCERT. The Wellington Professional Orchestra, under the conductorsliip of Mr. Herbert Bloy, will give their fourth concert- of the 1912 season at the Town Hall on Sunday evening next. Wagner's Overture "Tannhauser will be the chief item. An instrumental trio (Mr. A. Truda flute. Mr. Leon Cohen oboe, and Mr. H. Moschini clarinet), accompanied by the orchestra, will be another star attraction. Altogether the programme is an excellent one. A silver coin collection will bo taken at the doors.
