THE LAND BOARD.

THE MONTHLY MEETING, A meeting of tho Land Board was held at tho District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, yesterday, at 10 a.m. The following were present:—Mr. T. N. Brodrick, Commissioner Crown Lands (in the chair), Messrs. Jo.i. Dawwm, If. T. Ellinfiliam, James GeorKt'tti, Win. M'Lcnnan. Applications for land wero dealt with as follow:— Jlr. E. Leahy attended and asked for remission of rental for -1 years oil Section 14, Block 1, Nukumani. He stated that ho had put .£IBOO into tho section, but could not now pay the. rental. This matter was postponed for. further inquiry and consideration at tho next meeting. -Mr. F. R. Kelly's father attended and put in an objection to the rental proposed to be charged for Section 11, Block IV. Hautapu, viz., .£lO 10s. per annum. J-his was also postponed till the-next meeting. Mr. H. H. Harris applied to obtain tho freehold title to Section 3, Block Alii, Jlnungahnretu, 204 acres. It was resolved to approvo on tho usual conditions.

-Mr. J. D. Ciipwell applied for tho freohold title of Sections IGa and 17, Block ■i, Cezerus, 176 acres. It was resolved to approvo 011 tlio usual conditions and subject to a satisfactory report from tho Crown Lands Ranger. The Kgniont Box Company, Ltd., applied fo be allowed to obtain tho freehold title of'Section 2a, Block 111, Hautapu, 1 acre 1 rood 15.!) perches. It was resolved to approve on tho usual conditions. Mr. J. W. MTUe attended with referenco to tho sublease of Section C, Block I, Hawtrey Settlement from llr. Westerlcy to himself and explained that he wns 1111nblo to get Mr. Wester] ey to complete the transaction. Tlio board found that it had no power to interfere in the matter. Mr. ,T. f>. Dunn applied to transfer Section 2, Block 111, Kaitieke, 502 acres, to Mr. A. M'Robcrt. It was resolved to approve under tho circumstance Sir. H. 11. Beuck applied to transfer Section «, Block X, Pukeokahu, 250 acres, to Jlr. H. G. Wilson. It was resolved to approve, on tlio usunl. conditions. A report was received from the Crown Lands Rnnger on the application by Mrs. Jr. E. D. Dockery, lcsfco of .Section 18, Block XVI, Maungaknretu, 200 acres, to Air. P.-S. Donald. It was resolved to approvo on tho usual conditions, provided that all the conditions of Section 84 (lc) of tho Land Act, 1908, had been complied with. Bentley.—lt was resolved to recommend for tho favourable consideration of the Minister. Mr. L. B. Gilnllan, trustee in tho estate of the late Gilbert Rorison, applied to transfer Section 1, Block X, Kaitieke, 170 acres, to Mr. C. A T . Waldegrave. It was resolved to decline tho application. Mr. J. J. Hallidny applied to transfer Section 17, Blocks VI ami X, Makuri, 200 acres, to-Miss V. E. Mitchell.—lt wns resolved to adjourn for further particulars.
