OPENING OF BUCHANAN HOME.
FOUNDER TO BE HONOURED,
The official opening of the Buchanan Home for Incurables is to take plaeo at 2 p.m. on Thursday. The Hon. I?. H. Rhodes will perform the ceremony, and will probably bo assisted bv tho Prime Minister (Hon..W. 1?. Massey), and tho Hon. J. Allen, Hon. F. SI. B. Fisher, and Dr. Pomaro. A. feature of the function will bo tho presentation to Mr. W C Buchanan, M.P., of a portrait of himself in oils, in recognition of his many services to tho Wairarapa. This portrait has been subscribed for by manv admirers, irrespective of politics. It 'is understood that the portrait will bo liung in tho Buchanan Home.
