Tho late Frederick Hancock, the conmictor who was killed through an accident on a, tram-car in Featherston Street on Monday, wc-s considered a very nood conductor and employee of tho Municipal Tramway Sen-ice, and was popular anions a fellow-ivOTkors. Ho was a nativo of Wellington and learned his trade as a, boot finisher in Messrs. Hannah and Co.'s factory. After leaving tho factory ho was in business on his own account for a time and eighteen months joined tho tramways service. On behalf of tho local Bootmakers' Union, the secretary (Mr. J.
