The Manawatu Motor Cycle Club has now a membership of over eighty, eight i new members being elected ait the last meeting of the committee. A badge to be worn by members has-been adopted. The annual dinner of the club is to be held on August 7. "Notes on a Moth-killing Spider" will bo the subject of a paper to be read at the meeting of the. Manawatu Philosdphical Society at its meeting on Thursday evening, tho paper being by Mr. W. W. Smith, late curator,at Palmerston. Mr. M. A. Eliott, . president of the society, will also givo somo "Notes on Wool '■_ Maori enterprise is exemplified in tho Glenmoro district by tho erection o f a bridgo over the Oroua River (about two miles abovo the present Oroua bridge) to the order of Mr. Taito Marai. Dr. Pomare to opm.. tho bridge' " .■{*i'»'»«J Judgment in a caso relating to tho jalo of liquor was given at the Magistrate's Court to-day by Mr. A. D. ' Thomson, S.M. In this case, William J. "White, of Foxton, was charged by tho police on two separate informations that he did (on April .27 and 29, 1912, at Foxton) supply liquor to Natives for consumption off tho premises, contrary to Section 43 of the Licensing Act, 1910. Defendant was convicted on both informations, and fined .£3 on each, and costs 7s
