"BEN HUH." The spectacular dramatisation of General Lew Wallace's celebrated storv, "Ben Hur," by tho J. C. Williamson Dramatic Company at the Opera House still continues to draw a largo measure of public patronage, and the remaining six nights of the season will no doubt bo well patronised. The tableaux themselves constitute a rare spectacle, and of these may bo mentioned the scene in the Roman galley, before the fight with the enemv, tho raft on the waters, after the fight, tho wildly exciting chariot race, tho palm grovo by tho river, and tho cleansing of tho lepers. As a series of impressive denouements in the progress of the play, they connect up the story, and mark its dramatic development.
THE NEW DANDIES. To-morrow evening Mr. Edward Bransoombe's new Costume Comedy Company, the Now ("green") Dandies." will make their initio! bow to a Wellington audience. The new company has 'been very successful in Australia, and press notice's point to the fact that eacli member is an accomplished artist. A feature is made of "part singing, and the rcpertorro is fully stocked with original sketches and burlesques. The box plau.s show that the. new company will be by a full house. Mr. Leo. D. Chateau " arrived from Auckland last night £0 as to have everything in order for the opening 'performance. Seats can bo reserved for any evening at tho Dresden.
