SIR A. GUINNESS MOVES. Sir Arthur Guinness, who is member for (ho district including tho arch atl'ected by the Rcefton mining deadlock, had an interview with the Prime Minister yesterday morning on ways and means for setting tho mining industry in motion again. Sir Arthur Guinness urged that the Governient should appoint a Royal Commission to inquire and report as to whether the. W'uugh drill, or as it has come to bo familiarly known, tho "Popper" drill, could he safely worked by one man, and whether special legislation should bo passed to regulate the working of those drills. It was suggested also that the workers and the miilo owners should nominate a member to represent each body pn the commission. The Prime Minister promised to lay the matter. before Cabinet.
