FEILDING NEWS.

A remarkable .slip camo down on the Kawhatau Road in the Kiwitea County a few days ago. On tho upper side of the road is a high cliff, and, on tho other side, there is a sheer drop of 100 feet into tho Kawhatau Stream. A slab of papa, over half a chain long and about four feet thick, and 30 feet high, came down on to the road, and is standing on tho upper side, leaving just sufficient room for a vehicle to get past. Travellers glance gingerly at tho slip when crossing, as it looks as if it might topple over. The County Council's men will have to shift the slab, of course, but it will be no easy task.
