EFFECT OF RECENT JUDGMENT. Palmerston, Juno 19. Flos millers throughout tho district are much concerned ut the decision given by the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) that injunction shall issuo against them (or using running waters for the discharge of flax containing green matter. Officers of tho New Zealand Flax Millers' Association declare that there is no practicable way of filtration, and that the stoppage of their use of river waters means the stoppage of the industry, and that fiftytwo mills in this district 11:11 st close down directly tho injunction is granted. They atid that they have tried various means without success, as all forms of ultration havo proved inadequate. One. miller states that tho outflow from his mill is 18D gaMons per minute, and, tor every raghV tens ol flax treated, there is , six tons of green refuse which flows out with the water. They havo not yet been aMo to find any practicable means of stopping all 01 this from going through, ana, if any goes through at all, they would be liable to damages under in junctions. The dairy factories are in an equally bad case under the judgment, and various injunctions are. already - threatened. FOUND DEAD. . Gore, July Iβ. A man, apparently 80: years old, wa* found dead by school children in one of the domains this afromoon. He' had' evidently been dead for some days.
